Maryland FAMLI: Concept
Envisioning a modern, accessible, and equitable service for 2.6 million Maryland workers, 180,000 employers, providers, and state staff
As a Senior UX/UI Designer passionate about public service, I created a conceptual case study inspired by Maryland’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program. This project illustrates how a digitally native service could launch from the ground up — with equity, accessibility, and scalability at its core. I developed a service blueprint, registration flows, and design principles to show how FAMLI could deliver seamless experiences for workers applying for leave, employers managing compliance, providers certifying claims, and state staff adjudicating cases.
